It’s unusual that this seems like a new storyline, even though there is a connection to the previous one. Usually, most storylines are neatly wrapped up and then forgotten when the next one starts, and Calvin playing with the box the beanie came in seemed like a wrap-up of that one.
Let’s see now Suzy-Q, to answer your questions:1) No. 2) My imagination and Tiger friend take me to places that eclipse this petty school project.3) Usually, in class4) Absolutely not, and5) No.
Calvin has a fabulous vocabulary and a titanic imagination, which would make him a great author if only he could sit down and do it. Of course, he’s fictional (which we all tend to forget), so we won’t be reading any books by him. I think I’d enjoy being his dad, and laugh at the antics and wonder at the imagination. What memories I’d have! My kids are grown up now, but we still laugh at all the things they did that were so exasperating but now are great memories.
It’s about sorting, organizing, displaying, research. Many jobs use these skills every day when the boss hands you a project and expects a report at the end of the week.
All projects, whether inane or not, often has a lesson plan involved that encompasses other things. For example, there may be a lesson involving dinosaurs that could encompass something biological, nature, writing, reading comprehension, drawing and so forth. That being said, I wonder what kind of a man Calvin grew up to be and what his profession was.

I would have thought that Calvin, of all people, would have had a great bug collection.

If someone had told him, "Don’t you dare go anywhere near a bug, he would have had a world class collection in no time.

Don’t bother, Susie. Obviously Calvin is just more of your time wasted.
