Many people are aware that there’s a contingent in New York’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade of Jewish people whose ancestors once lived in Ireland. They march behind a banner identifying them as the Yiddish Sons of Erin. Lesser known is a similar contingent from Northern Ireland. Yes, it’s the Orange Jews.

Excellent! Love the intersection of Irish and Mexican popular culture.
The Leprechaun and the Aztec or Mayan.
Both have done so much to enhance and uplift the culture and soul of the United States.
Let us enjoy our Margaritas and Green Beer (or Irish Whiskey, straight up) on both March 17 and May 5 (Cinco de Mayo).

Wouldn’t it be nice to add Irish-Chilean Bernardo supreme dictator O’Higgins Riquelme (1778-1842)?

Canelo is Spanish for cinnamon, apparently a nickname for his hair color.
