Anubis looks a lot more like Scooby-Doo than I thoght. The Prof and Monty would have gotten away with it, too, though f it wasn’t for those meddling aliens!
Anubis is also the god of attacking inoffensive strangers, while his master Amun is the god of saying “don’t worry, he won’t hurt you”, followed by “you must have done something to provoke him”.
I had to copy the dialogue from the British Dangermouse, Tut Tut It’s Not Pharoh:Penfold : [spots an enormous statue] Aargh! What’s that? Danger Mouse : Oh, that’s Anubis. Penfold : But he’s got clothes on, Chief. Danger Mouse : No, no, not a nudist, Penfold, Anubis. It’s the ancient Egyptians god of embalming. Penfold : I don’t know about him, I’m barmy for coming down here.
And I was confusing my quote search with the great scene from Duckula’s great Who Ra? And Upshe Rises! from No Sax Please We’re Egyptian
He’s probably mad because you said he has a dog’s head. He has the head of a jackal. They belong to the same larger classification (Canis), but not the same thing. (Kind of like saying the critter at the opening of MGM movies is a tiger.)

I hope Anubis doesn’t read comics, ‘cause I don’t believe he’d like Jim drawing him like Scooby-Do…

It only hurts for a little while, Monty. Then, you’re dead.
