I can remember my grandfather loved playing on the floor with us and let us “ride” him like a horse. My grandmother, on the other hand, was constantly telling us that he had a bad back and we were hurting him by doing so. He hushed her and kept on playing.
We didn’t have skateboards when I was a kid. We had metal roller skates that you clamped your feet into and tightened them up with a skate key. You never wanted to loose that key.

His first skateboard was a steel roller skate nailed to a 2×4.
