With a dog this smart, the perfect solution to both their problems.

Voila…Earl has a new minion!

I knew a dog that actually used to do that. He was lost without his leash. He’d walk himself wherever he went!

When I lived in Germany, there was one man whose dog always carried his own leash on their walks. It was an interesting sight.

My dog does this because in our apartment complex it’s required that she is on leash.. But not technically required that I hold it. She listens very well so this gives her a little more freedom and me an extra hand for other things I’m carrying.

I think Roscoe is more worred what the other dog are going to think.

I had a friend that ran afoul of the local constabulary regarding a leash law. The officer was adamant that the dog have a leash on. Since the dog was totally trained and in control at all times, carrying the leash around was a fun thing for both the dog and my friend. The law stated that “the dog must be leashed and in control at all times”. Couldn’t cite her.

Don’t listen to what the other dogs are saying, Roscoe.

Rosce, the other dogs don’t get to out by themselves. You’re special!

I think Roscoe is sad because other humans walking by will know that his master cared not to be in his company.

A perfect solution, Earl would just walk slowly and stop to relieve himself on every block.
