Same thing happened to me in high school. Everyone was required to try out for choir by singing the do-reh-me….. I never got past “doe” before the choir director called out “Next”
I think to be a pop star, I would need an engine, a microphone and a manual transmission. Also noise canceling headphones. Scream into the microphone, roar the engine and grind the gears.

You don’t have to be able to sing, play an instrument or compose music to be a “pop star” today, just talk and grunt occasionally.

But current “pop stars” are not required to sing. Just listen to them mumble and screech.

She’ll have to sing through her nose if she wants to be famous.

In the words of Simon Cowell, “Whoever told you that you could sing has done you a great disservice.”

My high school held tryouts for the male parts in their first musical — every boy that turned up got a role!
