Any object held in your hand in a threatening manner is a deadly object; blunt force trauma is the leading cause of death in most homicides not gunshot wounds; therefore a table leg can be/is a deadly weapon. As is a 2×4, a baseball bat, a ball peen hammer and a cast iron frying pan; all of which were tied to homicide cases I played a part in investigating.

Same here. Police shot a man dead for carrying a table leg some years ago.
