I like to think Teach is partnering them deliberately because she knows they haven’t been speaking to one another, but of course it’s just as likely a coincidence.
In non frenemy news, our regular source the Daily Cartoonist reports that OJ is shortlisted for the Cartoonist Studio Prize for Best Web Comic of the Year:
To my shame Nancy is the only of these nominated comics I read, and I have no idea why it’s in the webcomic rather than print comic section, unless the latter refers to comic books rather than newspaper strips.
Conspiracy theorists will note that The Center for Cartoon Studies tags OJ as “Oliveia Jaimes” which may be A Clue (but probably isn’t).
Unfortunately, Nancy seems more “grumpy” the last couple of weeks rather than the more “devious, yet endearing” Nancy we have grown to appreciate. Sometimes I wonder if the art of an artist is more of a reflection of the artist’s state of mind than many suspect. If so, it may be that when these were written, OJ had been in the midst of come “grumpy” feelings of her own that she is working through.
It is my hope that the less “grumpy” version of Nancy emerges again soon and I do hope that she has not given up on robotics forever…. it was a very nice period.
As for today… I do hope that Nancy and Esther figure out how to patch things up… and as far as the math work goes… hmm… one will have the “answer” and one will have the equation…. they have have in effect made themselves into living flash cards. :) That will require them to work even more together if they are to have success.
(Of course, they could have simply divided whole problems in two groups, but there would have been no humor in that. :) )
For those bemoaning Nancy’s attitude, I’d like to draw your attention to the second strip in this series, helpfully provided by our friend LususNatutae:
You know, I’m actually liking Olivia`s version of the strip, there is something cute about it. Perhaps it’s biggest sin is being called “Nancy”. It would do better with critics (in this forum at least) if it was it’s own thing.

I just realized – I haven’t noticed “the numbers” on the whiteboard (e.g. 3, 16-4, 17-5) lately.
