I read somewhere that a composer looked at birds perched on wires and saw a musical pattern in the way they positioned themselves. He then set these patterns to music. Anyone know if this is true?
We all have to do something to attract a mate. I mean really, where would we be without some way to show someone we are interested in them without actually saying, ‘I am interested in you and want to mate with you.’
Christopher NIchols. This one was one of 3 comic strips that featured Christopher Nichols as the early love interest of Elizabeth Patterson. Lynn Johnston liked to pair up her characters young (Elizabeth is only 10) and she usually defended that idea by saying that was when she started herself. However, the Nichols boys are set to disappear after making one more appearance in January next year.
Lynn Johnston will blame their departure on her unwillingness to have the Nichols around after she did the Nichols’ affair storyline earlier this year saying it hit too close to home for her relationship to her first husband. However, she has also hinted that the real issue was her relationship with the woman who was the avatar for Anne Nichols. Lynn Johnston has a history of eliminating characters based on real people with whom she had a falling out. I don’t know which story is correct.
In a few more years, Elizabeth will get a new love interest who will look remarkably like Christopher, but will not actually be Christopher.
Please notice that those wires are old-style telephone wires and, thankfully for those birds, not high voltage power lines. Z.z.z.zap! Oops. Wings, anyone?
