Searching the web with google is not the same as searching the web. Google will only show you what Google wants you to see. To search the web, you need to know what you are looking for. If you don’t know, you will only see a suggestion.

Ah yes. Good old AltaVista.

I agree, real geeks remember Altavista, Lycos, etc…..

Of course I remember before lycos. my first search engine: encyclopedias and the cardex

Excite, Yahoo, Webcrawler, AltaVista. Before those was Gopher. And we used texting or ftp transfers to exchange information. Those were the days my friends ….
