“A young dog’s faith is absolute… Dogs are notorious for hope. Dogs believe that this morning, this very morning, may begin a day of fascination, easily grander than any day in the past.” Donald McCaig

“Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear.” Dave Barry

“I looked up my family tree and found three dogs using it.” Rodney Dangerfield

“What am I supposed to haul my dogs around in, a Rolls-Royce?” Sam Walton

By adopting a wonderful mutt, you’ll save a life and help reduce animal homelessness while also boosting your chances of a more robust new furry friend, as mixed-breed dogs have demonstrated better health and longer life spans than their purebred cousins.” Ingrid Newkirk

Dog breeds are an artificial concept anyway. People arbitrarily and selectively bred dogs for certain characteristics, and now many breeds of dogs are suffering the consequences from AKC restrictions: breathing problems, bone and joint problems, brain damage, and more.

Do yourself a favor the next time you want to get a dog; get a mutt. They make the best pets!

My rescue dog is Aussie Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix. He’s a great companion…and smart too!

They advertise dogs in the paper now that I don’t know what the contracted names mean.

    I have a sheltie/Pomeranian mix. We say she’s a pomacollian.

The vet says our dog is a Pit Bull/greyhound cross. I’d say he’s pure Momma’s Boy, and we love him for it!

And then there was the Chihuahua that got the Great Dane pregnant. Someone put him up to it.

Here’s a thought, if we keep mixing the breeds, will we get back to the original dog?

There is nothing “evil” about loving pure breeds. If I were younger and had a larger, fenced in yard I would have a Doberman again. My family had one 35 years ago and I have never forgotten him. He was a magnificent dog.
