I grew up in Northern Michigan (lord, I still miss it sometimes), where it took a lot of weather to get school canceled — and we got it fairly often. And I don’t recall ever having to worry about making up days at the end of the school year. Then again, I was a teen-ager for about eight of those years and didn’t pay very close attention to much.
Today, there’s a lot in the news about schools having to make up lost time because of snow days. Is that because more schools are having more snow days, or is it because now lawmakers are a little more obsessed with an arbitrary number of school days per year? I truly don’t know. So I guess the one thing we’ve learned here is that I’m still not paying attention but I can no longer very well blame it on being a teen-ager.
But I wore layers then and I wear layers now, and I have to say I’ve always been pretty comfortable.

School board will build in more days. You’ll start in mid August when it’s even hotter.

Did Frazz suggest that Caulfield should wear layers when it’s too hot to go to school?

You’ll be sweating it, Caulfield.

There’s only so many layers you can take off before you get arrested for indecency…

Students in Arizona know for a fact that that day will never come. (Oh, and we start at the beginning of August for some insane reason.)

Mallett, please don’t fall back in the habit of punchlines that are not immediately understandable.

Wearing layers makes it easier to robe or disrobe the amount you need for the temperature.

That actually happened to my school one year. They just assigned extra homework on the extra snow day.
