Hobbes, you’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do!

Being an only child sure has its quirks.

Calvin is pathetic.

Awwww. These aren’t snif tears, I was snif slicing an snif onion.

They’re a family again—-and that’s the most important thing of all!

Calvin! All those nervous moments when Hobbes was just in bed all that time!

Hobbes is the stuff of dreams as far as Calvin is concerned… good to see the “friends” back together!

Well, I suppose the difference between an adventure and a tragedy is coming home to family and have them all there to greet you.

I think I have wet eyes. I do adore Calvin and Hobbes.

The parents now have leverage. “Calvin! Do what I say or Hobbes loses an arm!”. ( knife under his arm).

Dad’s always been a bit of a downer.

I can’t wait to hear Hobbes side of the story. Abandoned and starving!

Go ahead Hobbes, tell Calvin how you fought the intruders from underneath the covers

Hobbes knew to hide under the covers. Lying await in ambush, of course.

Who wants to be raised in a ‘normal’ family anyway?

Every family is different… some are more different than others. (thanks Addams Family)

how is it that the bed wasn’t the first place he looked?

Calvin IS “normal”. The best kind of normal a kid can be. That’s why his antics are funny!

I’ve just had a thought concerning the call home that Calvin wanted to make last week. Suppose he had made the call. A burglar might have answered as some burglars have done much dumber things. Calvin might then have thought that Hobbes was answering but then again he might have said something like “That’s not Hobbes’ voice! Who are you?” His parents wouldn’t have believed his claim that there was someone in the house other than Hobbes until they got back and found that they really had been burgled.

Calvin is really very sad, it’s good to have Hobbes again!!

Hiding under the bed covers, huh. Calvin better check this out. I see Hobbes thinking up a good story now…

Watterson didn’t need or want another child to play off against Calvin: That’s Hobbes’s role. And that is why he’s a necessary part of the family.

I have tears!

Next… Hobbes will regale Calvin on his “heroics” during the break-in, right?
