THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY often played videos (pre-Internet) of wild animals destroying houses, particularly the kitchens. Racoons! Bear cubs! Horace needs to watch a few.
I remember a very old “Frank and Ernest” comic strip that had a poster for an X-rated Snow White movie, and the byline was, “Alone. In the forest. With all those animals!”
Horace may speak the Green Language but not well enough to connect with the animals as a true speaker to the Primal Sylvans and its acolytes. Maybe Horace left his fellow Houyhnhnms too soon before he discovered the depths of his heritage and grandeur of his abilities. Until then don’t trust movies! Especially Disney Nature shows.

Gee, he has no trouble conversing with Sine. Maybe these animals understand him but aren’t interested in slaving for him.
