Horace needs to heed the final words of a friend of mine who had an accident and died because we didn’t know his blood type, the last thing he said was, “Be positive”.
For Horace two negatives lead to a positive. We have on average 80% of humanity is slightly above in positive out look, the lower 20% has much less and of that a few of have no psychological cushion against reality at all. WE see it as is. Which is no advantage. So we tend to be melancholy about it or stoic or are dead. On the other end of the spread there are a few who have too much positiveness and are dangerous in their lack of care. Such is Evolution and population genetics expression of carried traits.
I was told that in the English language, two negatives make a positive but two positives do not produce a negative. I thought to myself, “Yeah, right…”.
