I appreciate the idea that those who are truly important to him are right there st home, but if it had been one of them, wouldn’t he have had them in his contacts, and therefore, wouldn’t their name have appeared? If I don’t recognize a number, I let it go to voicemail — if they have something to tell me, they’ll leave a message.
I gotten to the point where I don’t answer my land line because it’s always sales calls, only use it for outgoing calls, and my cell phone I can tell the junk calls because it’s usually the first three numbers are always the same for local cell phones.
OK, Yes, I’m old, but I have been using a smart phone for over 10 years now, but I don’t get today’s strip at all. ASSUMING that “buzz buzz” is the phone “ringing”, why would looking at the adults calmly drinking tea/coffee tell Baldo anything? How would the adults know who’s calling? (And YES, I know you can set special ring-tones for special contacts — I do that already.)

Is he checking to see if family is calling, or to make sure they can’t hear the conversation?
