I saw an explosion of teddy bears earlier. Watching the World Figure Skating Championship from Saitama, Japan. There is a tradition among the fans of Yuzuru Hanyu to throw Winnie the Pooh plushies onto the ice after he skates, and being the World Championship in his home country what looked like a couple of hundred Poohs immediately rained down from the stands the moment he finished – and one that was easily the size of Robbie Coltrane. No rainbow muffins – being Japan, maybe they were stuffed with taiyaki?

Empty threats? You’d make a great politician. That’s all they ever do. And, you’d make a lot of money. It could be stuffed in the Teddy bears.

I remember a good week at work -

A 20-something obnoxious kid had been aggravating me for a while – including what was technically sexual harrassment (‘technically’ meaning that there was no way on earth that management was going to do anything but tell me not to be so ‘sensitive’). So I smiled sweetly at him first thing Monday and told him, in the nicest way possible, that he was a microencephalic jacknapes.

He took it as a compliment, as did EVERYONE ELSE. So I repeated it several times over the week, until Friday, when the line manager looked it up in a dictionary. And TOLD THE IDIOT. This was wrong of him, the idiot should have had to live with his lazy stupidity.

He started screaming about how I couldn’t call him a pin-head clown, to which I replied, “Why not? I have been all week and you didn’t object.”

He left me alone after that… A REALLY good week!

May your upcoming weeks all be at least that good.
