Poor platypus gets no respect.

Who was it who once said that the platypus is proof that God has a sense of humor?

Just don’t try to pick it up, or you’ll get stung. An experience i’ve heard you don’t soon forget.

Not as weird as those pasty, hairless, loud-mouth thingies.

And the platypus survived them all.

That is extremely weird! Cavemen and dinosaurs! Weird!

It is weird. Mamma;s should still be a few million years further up and the evolutionary timeline.

What’s “Weird” is after ruling the earth for hundreds of millions of years, the Dino’s are no longer around, yet YOU TWO are!

And don’t give me that “Dino’s turned into birds,” Jazz! ;)

As a matter of fact, the first platypus sent back to the Royal Society was dismissed as a fake – and not a very good one, at that.

And yet, it’s still around.

GOD’s creation to confuse the evolutionists.

All that and it has venom claws on its hind legs. I am thinking there should be a super hero with platypus powers.

As Bucky Cat once pointed out, platypodes are the ultimate superfood. Are they red meat? Yes. How about fowl? Yes, both types. Fish? Probably. Lizard? Sure, why not?

I guess weirdness is in the eye of the beholder.

The Platypus wasn’t discovered, they were invented. Some sources date the invention as early as 1797. They were invented by the Aborigines to fool the Europeans. The Aborigines are still laughing to this day. Did you get fooled too, Ha Ha Oh My….

If you ever want to really try to make sense of the whole deal, try this little tidbit—

North American beavers have 40 chromosomes and European beavers have 48 chromosomes and cannot crossbreed.

I think God just had left over parts after building everything else, kind of like when I assemble something from IKEA.

The 4 footed fish is even weirder (to me) but, at the same time awfully CUTE.
