My husband and I have lived without “tv” for well over five years now. We only rent movies or British tv series from Netflix and/or watch some shows on Hulu. Hulu is for when we’re EXTREMELY tired or sick and want to veg out. Cable is out of control and 9 out of 10 stations are a waste, as is the programming in general.
Morse, Lynley, Jack Frost, etc. - been there, done that! British quality detective series all, but after you’ve seen them all, then what?! back to cable -
The higher the cable bill goes, the lower the quality of tv shows, sadly!
Jolly1995, I have watched some of the ‘BritWits” so many times I know the lines but they are still funny.
We don’t have cable, but we are fortunate to live in an area with good antenna reception. And we get the MHZ group of channels. They broadcast the International Mystery Series…including a programs in Italian, French, German, Swedish and Norwegian.
The English version of Wallander is nothing compared the Swedish one.

Time Warner keeps trying to get us to “come back”. Not in this lifetime. I’ll go to antenna first.

I wish I was paying $70 a month for cable.

To syke34 and Night-Gaunt: What are you paying for cable? or do you not have cable at all?
