That lunchbox looks vaguely like the UFO lunchbox I had when I was a kid.

I had Alvin and the Chipmunks as my first lunchbox. I still remember it….dark forest green and made of plastic – not metal. I still remember the unique smell when I would open it at lunchtime….that wonderful aroma of plastic and baloney.

I like the goat in the last panel.

I still have my scotch plaid metal lunchbox from first grade. Now I use it to keep my medications in!

Mine was Davy Crockett as was my wallet.

I had a Hopalong Cassidy lunchbox until too many kids made fun of it. Then I went back to brown paper bags. Peer pressures are powerful.

I worry about Rover going to the bus stop with Red. Does he go home alone, and how far? Maybe it is just on the corner of his block and there are no streets to cross. Silly, huh?

Just like at school, nobody wants to eat the banana or apple.

Red needs a backpack. But I don’t think they had been invented yet. Or people thought they were only for hiking!

I’ve always been perplexed as to how the notion of goats eating tin cans ever got stated. That is of course physically impossible. Maybe cartoon goats but not real ones. Always good for a laugh though.
