Flash back 15 years…I’m sitting on the back porch on a beautiful summer night, watching fireflies with my 4 year-old niece. I explain to her that their flashing lights are the boy firefly’s way of saying “Hey, baby…I’m a big, strong firefly…look how bright my butt is! I’d make a great daddy…let’s get together and make some babies!” I can still hear her giggling! ;D

Isn’t it a bit early to be teaching Thatababy about the birds and the bees?
And why do we teach kids about birds and bees anyway? Neither is directly applicable to human society.
