Shock value, huh? What is it about little cups having big ears? I suppose they have big mouths too. Beware what you say to kids, they will likely say it back to you.
The nephew of my ex-girlfriend’s first four words were all words he learned from conversations with me: “No” (yeah, I know, nothing earth-shattering there), “Yuck” (as in “Yuck, don’t eat that off the floor”), “Nice” (as in “be nice, don’t pull my hair out”), and “phone” because he loved playing with my phone and watching the buttons light up. “Mama” and “Dada” came later, probably because Mama and Dada were workaholics and the girlfriend and I were his primary caregivers.
Sadly enough, my daughter’s first word was the name of our dog. Poor confused thing knew that she was to wait in the living room while we ate, but the baby kept calling her name while sitting in the high chair.

My granddaughter calls me Poppa and it wasn’t her first word but it was one of the first dozen or so
I’ve been working with her on Superhero names, she’s got “Ulk” and “Pidey” so far

That smile, on Doug’s face, looks like he’s going to say that word Daddy shouted, when he stepped on a Lego… in his bare feet!

First word for one of my cousins was “raccoon” second was “Bubble gum.” Mama and Daddy came along later.
