Of course, there were only 7 phones in 1935.

I bet in the the Californian white millipede walked across that Hawaiian beach, you’d think there’s a hoard(?) of dogs!

Do barking sands seldom bite too?

Put the barking sand in your cat’s litter box and watch the fun begin.

I can drive a car through a phone book with even less effort.

750 legs is a lot, but still not enough to justify its name….

I have experienced that same effect on sandy beaches in several Florida locations! It’s not unusual or worthy of RBON!

If it has only 750 legs, not 1000, why is it not called a 750/1000 millipede?

What did they call that beach before dogs were introduced to Hawaii?

    What’s a “phone” book?

Besides proving the quality of the new golf ball materials, I would say that also proved that Alex Edne had a pretty powerful drive.

500 pages would equate to 250 sheets of paper plus the 2 covers, most phone books are printed on thin (12 pound newsprint grade) paper making the phone book approximately 2 inches thick.

As a comparison that is enough paper to stop a .38 caliber bullet at 25 yards.

It seems to me that driving the ball through a phone book would demonstrate the power of driver more than the golf ball.

So does the beach sand in Panama City, Florida. It is sugar-white squeaks, barks, whatever, as you walk across it.

The California White Millipede (Illacme plenipes) can have up to 750 legs. Most do not have that many but they average over 600 legs.

The sands on the beaches in Winchester Bay, Oregon make a high-pitched squeal when I shuffle my shoes over it. Next, I’m taking out my cell phone and recording it.
