I think this might be a case of too much honesty. Sometimes it is better to let people figure some things out on their own…it builds character or something.
This is exactly how I coached a fifth grade basketball team and a fifth/sixth grade baseball team from last place to losing in the finals (finishing 2nd overall in the leagues). ‘Putzing through’ has some benefits to it. Not knowing what you’re supposed to do sometimes allows one to be creative. Oh, and I know that look. I had the same one on my face.
