I remember an episode of M*A*S*H, when, during a routine physical, Margaret Houlehan was told that she was putting on some weight. Later, as she was getting drunk, Frank Burns told her, “Margaret, I think you should know that alcohol can be very fattening.” She replied, “That’s alright. I’m planning on throwing up later.”
Maybe not, but I’ve seen a lot of people with beer bellies. I guess the folks I’m around don’t drink wine. Did you know that sugars are poly-alcohols? Yup: 6 alcohol groups in each glucose molecule versus 1 per alcohol molecule.
