“All my life…” what is he now, seven or eight? Reminds me of a friend whose 3 yr old dropped and broke his favourite plate decorated with Cars. His mum told him not to cry, she could get him a new one later that day. “But Mummy I’m so tired of being clumsy! I’ve been clumsy since I was little!”

This is from 1972. I guess it’s too early to see if he can chew gum at the same time.

Even in the major leagues, do pitchers ever hit or hitters ever pitch?

And, Lucy, you sadistic fuss-budget, you like to see Charlie Brown falling down. Does a certain football ring a bell?

One thing I always liked about Charlie Brown is no matter how bad he plays that he still keeps on trying.

I’d have loved to see a strip that actually shows CB interacting with Willy Mays, and telling him about the day he misspelled “Maze” during the spelling bee.

Charlie Brown has to remember that most kids who do very well in Little League also don’t have a shot of turning pro when they grow up.

You’d be surprised how many can’t manage that.

There was another strip in which Linus asked Charlie Brown what league they were in. Charlie’s reply was, “Well, you’ve heard of the major leagues, the minor leagues, and the bush leagues, haven’t you?” Linus told him yes. Charlie asked, “Well, have you heard of the Little League?” Linus answered yes again, and CB told him, “Well, we’re about three leagues below that.”

CB career was sputtering until he did a 360 and got headed in the wrong direction.
