With the annual “guest shots” by the characters, I’ll bet Team Tracy is putting in a bid to be the ones to do a revived Annie comic strip for the centennial.
Aww Sweet Jesus here we go again with friggin’ Little Orphan Annie… and i’m sorry but.. TWENTY YEARS MISSING AND THEYRE ONLY STARTING TO LOOK FOR HER NOW?!?!?! CAH-MAN!!!!!!!
If B.B. Eyes was sent to prison for murder of a cop and there is sworn testimony from a witness, then how in the hell did he get out of jail to participate in the Mr Crime story? Wait, wait… nevermind that, how did he NOT end up with a life sentence not only for murdering a cop but ALSO for being apprehended along with the Mr Crime gang?
Look, I can let a LOT of stuff “slide” but WAITING TWENTY YEARS FOR A COP’S MURDER TO COME TO TRIAL?!?!?! That’s more than just a little bit absurd! Toss in there that good ol’ Ollie Warbucks is now implicated in the disappearance of the witness, it just goes straight on into ridiculous!
I’m gonna “tap out”on this one because NONE of it makes any sense from a “prosecuting standpoint”
1- CHIEF: All right Tracy. I’m going to teach you how to properly present a photo array of suspects to a witness… 2- CHIEF: You always start with the guy you think is guilty. Then say something like ‘this guy sure looks guilty!’. Then hand the witness the picture… 3- TRACY: Dad?!?!
The above information provided by Pequod is correct as far as it goes. However, the Mrs. Warbucks that Pequod is talking about was Oliver’s first wife. Trixie Tinkle was his second wife. People confuse them because the first Mrs. Warbucks drowned in a shipwreck. The second wife, Trixie, went on a cruise with Oliver and he returned without her. No explanation was ever given of what happened to her.
Thanks for being on board with me here, David. Obvious we are both serious Annie fans and know our background of the character. Between us we can clear up any misconceptions.
Actually, the witness is still around (as per the last time Annie had a comic strip). She was given a new identity and – thanks to a little-known alliance between Warbucks and Diet Smith – a completely new appearance… Captain Amelia Santiago!
Just think: With the cast of Annie, there are a whole set of suspects: Warbucks, Punjab, the Asp…but I guess with it being 20 years ago we have to eliminate Annie and Sandy LOL (You know, I’m wondering if Mr. Am is powerful enough to have caused all of these continuity errors…)
Someone mentioned “chronology” above. Someone hasn’t been following this strip since it became a Marvel Fantasy rip off, where no one ever dies and time travel is like H.G. Wells is at the helm. Never read much of Annie, so like Tsull above, I’m prepared to be bored, hopefully until these guys come up with some new ideas. Last decent potential villain, Ghost Peppers got truncated. Gould rolls.
Personalities aside, if this witness has been “missing for 20 years,” I should think she would have long since been declared legally dead. Talk about a cold case. Absent any new evidence, i don’t see that Tracy could do much that hasn’t already been done….
It would make more sense if they said she had been missing for 5 years. That way the Trixie continuity happened when Annie was about 7 or 8. The whole business about B-B Eyes is new. I don’t think there was any connection between the two in the past since the Trixie story happened a decade or more before the B-B Eyes story.

Good morning™, shocked friends!
I guess that only Oliver Warbucks knows anything about what happened to Trixie, so interviewing him is Tracy’s first task

The chronology isn’t going to line up …
That would age Annie into her twenties, right! ✨AnyFace over 5 years ago
Coincidentally, had been thinking about how we hadn’t had a crossover this year yet. ✨

Ye gods is right. That guy must be Lawyer Kleen’s brother, separated at birth.

Will it be, “Annie get your gun???” or will Oliver tell where she is hiding???

Does anybody know when Warbucks wife disappeared in the Annie strip? Like a date when Warbucks was asked about what happened to her and didn’t answer?

That’s the first time in a good while since we heard Dick Tracy or anyone in the strip use the exclamation “Ye gods!”.

TWENTY years? What about the Statute of Limitations? It runs out in seven years, I think, but not on a murder charge.
