I suppose getting to knowing what nature is really like is a great way to realize how great you got it at home.

We can guess how the atory ends, can’t we? THey’ll love the old watering hole and apend the next thirty years going there every summer. In turn, their kids will continue the yearly odyssey….

This is how lasting memories are made….And subsequently, cherished. We’ll know for sure in another thirty years, won’t we???

Ahhh, the pictures we have of our granddaughters birthday party next to the creek. Second graders trying to catch crayfish with plastic buckets – which a squirrel ate out of the bird bath. Who knew?

Never forget my son, age five, flying out of a creek with a big crawdad on his toe!

He should take them to the ocean! We lived right on the bay off the Gulf of Mexico (close enough to ocean) for 3 years (from age 6 – 9 for me). Swimming pretty much every day, dinner caught off the beach when daddy got home, little fish nibbling at my toes, hermit crab pets (sorry, hermit crabs!), sharks and rays and dolphins, and surrounded by woods with wild pigs and rabbits and snakes and … it was wonderful.

Too bad daddy got transferred .
