Rover: Is it true watching too much TV can rot one's brain?
Red: Hardly. The amount of radiation emitted by a TV set is infinitesimal.
Rover: That's a relief.
Red: Oh goody. "The blob invades sorority row" Is up next!
John9, they were that small back in the 60’s & 70’s, which is when this strip was set. There was no reality TV on primetime, no Judge Judy or Oprah, no I-Pods, smell phones, PC’s or anything else the young people hold so dear today. And we got by just fine without them.
Oh boy…I remember going to the movies an seeing infomercials about stopping pay TV, had no idea what is was about. All I thought to myself was why would anyone pay to watch TV?
That’s true Grog, but as I recall my parents back in that day thought TV was every bit as bad as all those more recent bits of technology. And while there was no Judge Judy, there was still quite a bit of bad TV. The Lawrence Welk Show, for example. Or the Sonny and Cher show.
