Violent rhetoric does indeed come into play in some situations, but the Arizona shooting incident isn’t one of them. I mean, I can come up with plenty… Matthew Shepphard, Angie Zapata, Lakesha Green… but no, this was a guy who was just messed up.

It would have helped a little if the messed up guy didn’t have such an easy time getting a 30 shot automatic pistol.

It would have helped a little bit more if everybody in the crowd had been carrying one.

^Ever hear the term “friendly fire”? Toll would have been higher in all probability.

^^Yeah, it would have been great having thirty or forty people with no training blasting away in the direction of Loughner.

I’m sure you are innocent. You won’t use anyone’s death for your gain. Right?

The strangest story I heard came from the cab driver who drove him there. The cab fare was $14.25, and all he had was a $20. So they went in a store for change, and Loughner took back a $5, making it a 75 cent tip! This while he was planning the shooting.

Although violent rhetoric is irresponsible, the eyes should read “MISREADING THE…” “…SECOND AMENDMENT”.

If we enforced the Second Amendment, then the odds that Jared Loughner would have had a gun would have been greatly diminished. He in no way qualifies as part of America’s “well regulated militia”. Indeed, the Army wouldn’t have him.
