WHAT? Did Bucky get it right on a scholarly point? Shakespug is shaken, Satch and Wilco are digesting this.

    Better than “Ben Colder” though.

Ben Johnson?! Is that quote from “Mighty Joe Young” or one of his many westerns?

A pedant writes: it is Ben Johnson, from “Every Man in his Humour” (note spelling, you Americans!). Act 1, Scene 4. Shakespug got it almost right: the quote is actually:" Helter skelter, hang sorrow, care ’ll kill a Cat, up-tails all, and a Louse for the Hangman."

“The earliest form printed reference to the original proverb is attributed to the British playwright Ben Jonson in his 1598 play, “Every Man in His Humour”, which was performed first by William Shakespeare. "

I’ve decided that I like Bucky’s weird friends more than Satchel’s weird friend.

Giving an out to the story line by having Bucky suddenly demonstrate obscure literary knowledge is very “deus ex machina”, Mr. Conley.

Ben Jonson was a contemporary of Shakespeare, and appropriately enough, this was the original source of “curiosity killed the cat.”

I love this story line. I only recall one Shakespeare requirement in high school, which was “Hamlet.” I got to read the part of Queen Gertrude. :-)
