Labor Day is going to be a total freak out.

(For readers outside the US, Labor Day in the US is the first Monday in September. The public schools I went to usually opened a couple days after Labor Day.)

Are these current reruns occurring on the same dates as the original? There’s no way this is an accident.

Like sands through an hourglass…these are the days of our vacation.

(Not that a modern kid would know what an hourglass was, or why it had sand in it.)

I understand him. I felt that way too … for 55 years as student then teacher. Even now, on a 2-week trip, the first couple days are great … with so much ahead. By mid-point, I see the end; and it feels OVER.

Freaked out my brother’s kids yesterday: in the local home improvement store that also (oddly) sells groceries (Midwesterners would know the name “Menards”), they already have a section filled with school supplies… :-P

we have year-round school… can’t imagine how Calvin would react to that.

I thought I was the only one that acted like that during summer vacation…

Wait til you are my age!

this brings up wonderful memories of summer vacations. riding my bike all over the place, climbing trees and rocks, playing with friends. I’d disappear for hours and my mother was fine with it back before a kid going to a park down the block from their house leads to a visit from child protective services.

Wow, this strip lined up really well.

Panic sets in for the strangest reasons.

This is how I feel about getting old!! Just need to calm down and enjoy life- you and me both, Calvin.

One of the ways you can distinguish an adult is that they’re more or less resigned to the passage of time… and the inevitable entropy effects that accompany it. More or less.

I still feel the same way today about weekends, especially Sunday’s.
