I don’t remember seeing this D.A. before or hearing her referred to by name. I don’t think it will help for Tracy to try again.
I posted this very late yesterday, so I’m repeating it for those who missed my extra background of Jackal. Here is Trixie’s first meeting with Timothy J. Jackal:
http://worldofdt.info/img/loa19320701.png
After some consideration, he decided that the best approach would be to propose a separation between Trixie and Oliver. That way she would still remained attached to him but she could do her own thing with, say, $5,000,000 a year in alimony. Jackal was convinced that Warbucks would consent to this immediately to avoid any unpleasant publicity. He went to Warbucks and proposed the $5 million a year settlement, then gave him a couple of days to think about it.Warbucks was upset that his wife sent a lawyer without talking to him directly about her problem and he sent his men out to dig up dirt on Jackal. This is what happened at the next “meeting” between the two of them:
Interesting threads in this story. Warbucks has never spoken about the fate of Trixie. No body. No investigation. Warbucks could be suspected in her disappearance. Is she alive? If so, where is she living? Warbucks is no murderer. The DA has put pressure on Tracy to get answers. Otherwise, a subpoena shall be served. Will Jackel or B-B’s boys find Gypsy? Does she know where Trixie is? How will the girls become involved in the investigation? Anyone who helps the case against B-B is in mortal danger. Leapin’ Lizards! Honeymoon, Annie, Crystal, Gypsy, and Trixie could all be at risk once there is a rumpus.
1- TEASE: Listen Tracy and listen hard. Get the goods on Warbux or else see? 2- TRACY: I can’t. He’s my father…no…wait! Don’t shoot! I’ll do it! 3- TEASE: I thought you’d see it my way Tracy. Now get outta here before this thing goes off. Yeah see?
Wow, Neil, I’m glad you caught us up on your Tracy/Annie historical knowledge. Really missed that. Subpoena?? Geez, just like real life, It’ll be ignored.
D.A. Templar and Chief Detective Tracy seem to be on pretty friendly terms. But she brooks no nonsense and wants results. The trouble is, the results she wants (Tinkle-Warbucks’ whereabouts, preferably alive) may not exist (this also creates a problem for Tracy as he tries to comply with her directive).
I think it is really time to end all the backstory filling and get the race for the Missing Witness between Team Tracy and Team B-B Eyes underway, ramming speed (as in the days of the triremes)….

I think it will take a subpoena from the DA to get Oliver to talk.

If they attempt a subpoena, Daddy Warbucks will fake his own death again.

YE GODS!!!! This has been what, a week now with absolutely ZERO movement in the story whatsoever?
No wonder why these stories never get wrapped up properly, it seems Mike was absent from school the day they taught “HOW TO PLOT OUT A STORY”

I think this is the first time in this story that Oliver’s second wife is referred to with her married name (Trixie Warbucks).
