Hey that happened in a book I just recently reread called “Blessing in Disguise.” This woman is an immigrant from Norway and speaks no English, and she’s coming to help her mother at a boarding house. She gets on the wrong train and is met by a man who’s expecting a mail order bride. Of course she falls in love with him. Then later on the real mail order bride arrives.
Gee, the book I am currently reading is “Eleanor of Aquitaine and the Four Kings”. A non- fiction book which is a bit of a slog compared to other similar books – written on a doctorate level I think.

The part about two people missing a chance to meet reminds me of a book I read years ago called “Thrice Upon a Time” by James P Hogan.
