Broomie (and anyone else contemplating this) – START SLOW. It may seem easy if you rush through a lot of new exercises, but you’ll HURT later, and quit. Start with one or two, at a light weight and low count, and work your way up.
I started out on one machine that the gym trainer said would help prevent hamstring cramps. That was over a month ago, I’m only up to 5 pounds and 15 reps – but I don’t get those cramps anymore, so it’s great!
I want to encourage anyone who can to work out, it will do a lot of good – IF YOU DO IT CORRECTLY. Then again, Broomie’s 1500+ years old, she must be doing something right.
