Apparently Hauschild was thoroughly into the Nibelung sagas. Here we have Siegfried in Regin’s forge. Problem: Siegfried and Regin aren’t in the same story. The story about Regin involves Sigurd, not Siegfried. Looks as though somebody’s got the title wrong over at Wikipedia Commons.
" Remember, when you’ve finished your signature blade, our panel of judges will put it through rigorous testing for strength, sharpness, and durability in a kill test on a ballistic dummy, an antler chop, and the apple slice. "
(best viewed by Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this painting (may be a fresco; I’m awaiting word from its current-location – File information is in flux), including a Description (points to a much clearer, though watermarked, image).
(again in German that Chrome can automatically translate) and links it points to, I was unable to find other info about this artist (that Chrome could automatically translate). Perhaps those who read German can find more. This is the first work by him used here.

Now remember that this one is for John Bolton, so it has to look really grand when the old boy waves it about. Which means you should not sharpen the blade!
The sword is nearly finished, one more heat cycle and I will have to figure out which of these buff guys I will plunge it into to for the hardening affect.
Though we don’t get to see them plunging burning swords into slave bodies to cool them. They cooled faster than in water. Must have been the nitrogen in the living bodies. If it were true.

Completion of the new swords for the circus progressed slowly, because the sword-swallower kept wanting to “test” them.

On a too practical note…. Glock’s have a plastic frame, which isn’t forged. A metal frame 1911 with wood grips is possible, though.
