Sorry Elly, but if the boys need to hydrate in the summer, they should be allowed to hydrate. You don’t want to deal with heatstroke, heat exhaustion or dehydration.
Nonsense, Mike and Gordon. You don’t know what hot is. Up in Canada, hot is like 70 degrees or something. 70 is the average winter degree here in Phoenix and it is the perfect degree – not cold or hot. I had a friend who was in the process of moving to Phoenix in the summer and I told them not to – wait until winter. They moved anyway and got sick in our 115-degree summer climate. Implants need time to acclimate to the summer season from winter season.
When I moved to Canada people who knew me said “Oh now you live in Canada you won’t have to worry about the summer heat!” But it does get hot and humid here, just slightly less than where I lived before (Michigan). We do not live in igloos, we do have air conditioning and swimming pools and people love a good barbecue, many things just like in the states.
I have an early memory. My siblings & I were walking to get some ice cream. I was complaining about how hot it was. My older brother said to me, “Yeah, and in the winter you’ll be complaining about how cold it is.” I’ve never complained about the heat since.
At least when you’re cold you don’t feel greasy. When the weather is hot and humid like it is now, I don’t sweat so much as get greasy, and hot and greasy is… ugh.
On the flip side, the coldest I’ve ever been was at Carnival in Quebec in February. You didn’t dare leave an inch of skin exposed. But people actually stayed at the Ice Hotel. Braver souls than I.
I went out to get my mail and was only bitten by two deerflies, my shorts are wet with sweat, and my glasses covered in sweat, a couple slivers in my feet from dried grass because I tried barefeeting, and then just junk in the box! I can’t believe there are any people that don’t love this…

Go swimming or a movie. You have a summer job, you got the money.

Well, Canada IS in the north; it’s always bound to be hot in the summer.

Time passes slowly when you are bored and have nothing to do. It’s the only way to make summer vacation feel longer. ;-)

Lemonade was heavenly when there was no air conditioning.

I’ve often heard that “It’s not the heat, it’s the humanity” but I meet more folks with a lukewarm IQ than I’d like to admit.

I agree. Nature is endless fascinating to people with A/C and TV. Those out in it are more interested in SPF and DDT.

Here it’s winter – which means that I’ve switched from tank-tops and shorts to polo shirts and jeans.
Right not it’s 25 degrees Celsius ( 77 Fahrenheit ) brrr!

I read a story recently about an Alaska resident who was complaining about the heat. It was 70 degrees.

If it gets hot, humid and unpleasant in Detroit, Buffalo and Rochester, it can get hot, humid and unpleasant in Toronto as well.

How hot does it get in Canada? Here in Texas it’s supposed to get up to 96 today, and that’s not a record high.
