My Westie, exactly. I don’t know how he knows when it’s bath time but somehow he knows and runs out side and hides behind the shed!. I have to wait and grab him when he’s relaxed and off guard. Once he’s in the water, he’s fine and seems to enjoy it. I guess it’s a little game we have to play.
Both of my part-Labs didn’t inherit the Lab love of water - they hate getting bathed. Although, the one does seem to enjoy it once we get her in the tub. The other one, not so much.
Hmm, they are due for a bath next weekend, now that I think about it. Joy.
And then there is the story about the guy who wanted to give his dog a bath because the dog had been scratching himself a lot. But when he started to fill the bathtub and get the flea soap, the dog ran out the door and across the street into the shopping center parking lot. He followed the dog over there and was looking around and under all the cars in the parking lot when the shopping center security guard asked him if he could help him. The guy said, “Thanks, I’m looking for an “itchy poochie”!” The guard said, “Oh, I’m sorry sir, I can’t help you with that problem. All those Japanese cars look alike to me!”

And he’s still got the post-bath shake to look forward to, if his people and their bathroom aren’t wet enough already.

None of my Shelties liked bathing. One was so water shy, he wouldn’t even step in a water puddle.
