My wife works on a State Department grant to provide medical assistance to refugees. They come from a swath of the world that starts in central Africa, arches through the middle east and ends up in south Asia.
Through her I have met a number of people and I have been to a goat roast (if you have never had roasted goat, you are missing a delicacy), an Islamic call to prayer, been blessed by a Buddhist monk, attended a Burmese Christian Wedding (part of the ceremony involved the bride giving the groom a sheath for his sword – something Freudian about that) the only part we understood was the “Amens,” and I attended a celebration for the god Krishna where I had a conversation with a 10-year-old girl on why Krishna is her favorite god. She was quite knowledgeable and well-spoken.
You could say that God works in mysterious and wondrous ways or you could say that His creation, people, are utterly fascinating.
It’s mean of me but there have been times when I’ve shut down zealots by telling them I choose no particular religion for fear of going to heaven and finding out that I would have been calling God by the wrong name for so many years.
The Holy Father is truly living the Gospel courageously! The Holy Spirit guided his selection well and the Lord is smiling! May we all be so willing to live the Word.

Seems there is one of those in every group. Jesus taught about love, no exceptions.

Some would say that this comic is preaching to the choir. But I’m in the choir so I don’t mind, and anyone is welcome to join.

I too join the long list. Went to Catholic school through college and the one thing I learned was that the love of God speaks many languages!

Brother Leo, you are a good Christian man. Keep it up. Your order’s founder was the same way. The monsignor will " go to Hell in his own handbasket".
