My wife listens to quite a bunch of podcasts during the day, but most of the US- or Canada-based ones she needs to crank up the speed to 1.7 to 2.5 to have them in her usual pace.
I don’t even try to run anymore. Shin splints, which do not get better if I “keep at it”.
My standard gym fare is old radio comedy. Much more distracting and enjoyable thatn mere music.

I walk with audiobooks. “Murder on the Orient Express” last week, “Princes at War” this week, usually always have a Discworld book on the go too…
