Most of the people I’ve encountered their are helpful and the check-out line is quick. I heard someone use the phrase “happy cult.”
A reasonably well-remembered anecdote:
“Interviewer to Cary Grant: You know, they say every man in the world wishes he were Cary Grant.
“Cary Grant: Hell, I wish I were Cary Grant!”
Mutatis mutandis, I’ll bet the same thing applies to Trader Joe’s perpetually happy cashiers.
Indeed – they really are nice people to talk with!
I’ve noticed the employees stick around for a reasonably long time, not a huge turnover.
