“graffiti” is the plural of “graffito”
Oddly, pale-skinned people (like Inuit) tend to tattoos–it’s the dark-skin people, like the Dravidians or Cushites, who don’t get the point.

So tattoos are racist since the “artists” don’t use white ink? I like that line of thought. Now I can say how I’m not prejudiced since I don’t have tattoos.

No–Cushites was the name for one of the dark-skinned peoples known from antiquity–they lived in Cush, also spelled Kush, an early Nubian kingdom, next south of Egypt, over 3000 years back.
Sometimes the comics and such fiction have a true background–unlike, say, the Mummy/Scorpion King series.

One of my adopted sons is black and he (sadly) loves tattoos. They actually are quite popular in the black community. I don’t care for for them but, hey, he’s of age now…

It’s just that, depending on how dark the skin is, the ink may not show up well. As mentioned, in Tropical Africa and other such populations, scarification tends to be more common.
