And the sky would look much more wonderful if you’d get out of the city and all the light pollution.

Harry’s a typical New Yorker; he’s lived there so long he’s lost all his aesthetic sensibilities.

I used to remember when I was a kid and my parents would take me out to the country just to see the skies at night…now most of those places have been taken over by urban growth and you can’t see them as well…

It is wonderful and you really don’t want to see celestial fireworks – the dinosaurs were the last to see them.

He was expecting the big bang.

Sometimes Steve Martin’s ideas are funny. Sometimes not so much.

How can they see the stars if they’re that close to the city?

Apparently, the sight of stars came as a disappointing Revelation to him.

When we can see them undimmed by the artificial glare of lights they are a stupendous sight.

unless there’s a blackout in the city in the background, it’s impossible to see that many stars anywhere near an urban area.
