I’ve actually found that the smell of sauerkraut gets milder as it sits around. When I was cleaning out my fridge before moving once, I was tossing out some old pasta which was downright nasty and thought the kraut would be even worse but it wasn’t. Hardly smelled it at all, really.

No. But he did have to stare down the Nazis and the Japanese threat, Pearl Harbor and The Great Depression. which is far scarier stare that whatever the heck “sauerkraut” is. Sounds pretty German, so it’s suspicious nevertheless.
