First: it’s dangerous for them to be there. Second: it’s illegal for them to be there. Never give them any money. Donate money to the people who help them out.

Grow a spine, people. Just say no!

My city just made this kind of panhandling illegal.

Let’s see where this goes. “Jerry? It’s Jerry from work!”

My mother used to carry bags of snacks to hand out. An amazing percentage of those folks weren’t really hungry.

Make eye contact, give him a friendly smile and return your gaze to the road.

I don’t speak English. Spracken se deutsche? Habla espagnol? Parlez vous francais?

Usually that throws the panhandlers off their game and they stop bugging me.

Had one try to claim their car was impounded and the lot attendant was keeping their kids as well as their car until they came back with the money to get their car out. Soon as I offered to go to the parking lot with them and take care of the bill they started making excuses and saying they would get a friend to help them.

You..We.. don’t owe them a cent but no reason you can’t look at or even wish them a good day. I suspect.. a lot of them make more in a couple of hours than they would by working a real shift.

It depends on the person. I keep a few $10 bills in the car for the elder homeless. The young are on their own.

Well in Orlando I just check to see where he has chained his $1500 bicycle he rides and then keep on driving.
