Interesting that the 4th is a day of celebration in Id as well.

Ears still ringing eh Wiz? Boggles my mind why so many people are fascinated with big booms.

As a wizard, Wiz, shouldn’t you have taken precautions to make sure that doesn’t happen to you?

The visual displays are delightful, but — like the many with PTSD, animals, and small children — I find those BOOMS to be insufferable. On July 3, 2015, my late son was taking an afternoon nap when someone in his neighborhood set off a BOOMER. He leapt from the couch and dove into the closet, where he covered his ears and sat shaking, rocking and crying. Thankfully, a neighbor (former Navy nurse) was visiting and recognized what was happening. Eventually, she was able to calm Michael. Another 4th. of July panicked a small herd of deer near my apartment complex. The next morning, a very young fawn was bleating and running through the complex, looking for its mother. No idea how that turned out.

People of Id around here all buy cheap fireworks that only make noise. Nothing to look at.

Perfect excuse for Wiz to ignore his wife.

Assuming that was a premature explosion the Wiz is lucky he wasn’t blown to smithereens. You don’t hear smithereens much any more.

4th of July? Hum, what are we celebrating? Can’t fly the US flag, homeowner’s association said that’s bad? We can’t fly the old Betsy Ross flag, that’s somehow racist? Can’t speak out about it, you will be crucified on social media, or by the media. We can’t have a barbecue, that’s pollution. We can’t eat a hamburger, that’s fatty food. We can’t drink soda pop, that’s bad for you. You can’t have a beer that’s really bad for you. Fireworks, most fireworks are illegal, just a fire hazard. It’s been deemed that anything not good for you is bad; hence, illegal. Alcohol, caffeine, contact sports, meat, speaking one’s mind, …

Nothing says fun times like the reckless use of explosives. Assuming you don’t lose something that can’t grow back….

My grandfather was an eye surgeon. I remember being told that he often spent the 5th of July in the operating theater, repairing the damage to kids’ eyes that had been done the day before by flying debris from fireworks.

There are times when it seems the wizard can conjure up anything. I wonder why he chooses to light a conventional firework this time?
