I just watched a youtube where the little boy was heartbroken because his new fishing pole broke the first time he used it. So cute as his dad tried to comfort him.
Anyone remember those little toy fishing poles with a plastic fish on the line? My dad put real fishline on my sister’s pole, and she used it while we were all fishing. We thought that she had caught a tiny bluegill, then my dad noticed that the line was circling very rapidly, and realized that the tiny bluegill had been knocked up the fishline—by a fairly large bass, which (with Dad’s help) she managed to reel in.

So you hooked it, hook, line, and sinker. Rod and reel too. But I’m not sure just how you can stretch this into a “fish-story”?

Nice catch, Jimbo…now you and Pasquale can do father-son fishing together again!

Almost as good as snagging an old shirt with two 20s still in the pocket.

On some levels, that’s a better catch than an actual fish.
