It’s “. . . just LIE down, . . .”, NOT “. . . just LAY down, . . . .” It’s also NOT “Father’s Day” (that was a week ago) and today’s the FOURTH Sunday in June. Otherwise, Breathed’s right: every day is kids’ day!
Why do so many commenters worry about the “wrong” date the strip is shown? And then there are those who worry over spelling or usage. Such small things to worry over. Isn’t the content what we should be looking at? And today’s strip is absolutely heartwarming (aside from that omelet!).
Linus to Lucy: "I have the gift of prophecy. I can tell you what an adult—any adult—will say in a given situation. For example, ask any adult, “Why is there a Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day but no Children’s Day?” Every adult will answer, “Every day is Children’s Day.” Lucy tries it on their grandmother, who promptly answers (without even a trombone!) Linus is smug, and says, “The gift of prophecy.”
By the way, I’m all for fighting the dreaded dumbing down of this country (and the world), but let’s not pretend that a character is the same as the author. Otherwise, trying to “correct” Huck Finn could drive you bleedin’ crazy!
Very sad news. x_Tech a witty and funny commenter here and many other comics in GC has passed away. Complications from pneumonia took him at 71. My condolences to his family and friends.

Did we overshoot and miss the third Sunday?

Oddly the title panel has a copyright notice “© 2017”. I checked the strips from two years ago, but this one is not there.
So I checked other recent strips. Some of the ones with the same title panel also have the wrong year:

Others have it corrected:

Five eggs and three cups of Cheez Whiz?!?! That is one nasty omelet. And it’ll kill you if you keep eating them.
