Ducks don’t scare me. It’s all those large Canadian geese down here getting swept up in one of those high-speed vortex style cyclones that scares me. I don’t want to get goosed.
See, the climate has always changed, and always will. It is inevitable.
The question is, can we deal with it in such a way that our way of life is sustained in a manner that is desirable.
And THAT, and that alone, is the key to understand the current struggle.
What are we fighting for? The status quo, the existing boundaries, the population of teeming multitudes drudging their existence of starvation and pointless misery in evermore crowded slubs?
Or, are we carefree opportunists, who grab what we can from the only life any of us have, content in the knowledge that death is dust and pleasure is its own reward?
The choice we make: whether to struggle against the rising tide or buy mountaintop villas and guard dogs, is the defining issue of our day.
