Tell him you believe he got his name from Pres. Hayes and not the other way around (see July 3). Then tell him you want to change your name to “Bush”. Rebel with a cause.

Tell ’em you want to get a secondary horn implant.

Tell them you hate mirrors – I’m sure they’d be shocked to know their kid is a pathetic liar!

Tell them your best friend is a human.

If that’s not rebellious for a unicorn, nothing is.

Oh, there are other ways:

One may say, “But what if they’re not Star Trek or Doctor Who fans?” Valid question, but highly unlikely. However, we have backup. Get them to arguing about the plot of LOST. Or if it’s time for Wheel of Fortune to just shut it down and stop the moronic applause machine.

Rebellion and individuality are not necessarily connected. To truly be individual – to truly be unique (whether orn or human) – means not caring one way or the other about whether others are similar to yourself. If you change in order to be different, then you are no longer being yourself.
